Changes to techreluctant

I haven’t been around here much in the past few weeks. Very busy with other things but also the restrictions of doing certain topics on certain days wasn’t conducive to what I wanted to do here so I avoided it. It turns out that something I thought would make it easier for me to do techreluctant.com actually did the opposite. If it was Mail Monday and I felt like telling you about a new website I’d found and thought you’d like, I would have to make a note of that website somewhere and then try to figure out some email thing to tell you. Mail Mondays were the hardest because while email is probably the thing used most by tech-reluctants, it is also often the most complicated to explain because of different email software, email providers (Google, Yahoo, your own ISP), and different Operating Systems. So in order to explain how to do something in email meant explaining it for Outlook on Windows XP, Outlook Express on Windows Vista, Eudora in Windows 95 and everything in between. Even then, it still might not cover what all tech-reluctants need (when I worked at a Help Desk, we had people who used very old text-based programs for their email so they would have to type commands in a box in order to send, read and receive mail and they did not want to have to use Windows).

Anyway, for quite a while I did daily posts from Monday to Friday and I may do that again but most likely it will be two or three times a week. And Mail Monday is now just Email; Tips & Tricks Tuesday is just Tips & Tricks; What is it Wednesday is What is it; Tickle Me Thursday is now The Tickle Trunk; Free-for-all Fridays is just Free Tech and I am very relieved not to have to stick to that schedule. You’ll probably see a few more reviews and some more news but I’m not promising that. techreluctant.com is new and developing so let’s see where it goes. Questions and suggestions about what you’d like to see here are very welcome.
